Xiaomi 14 Price – Phone Specification 2024

The company’s latest flagship phone is now considered a compact model because of its 6.36-inch size. This follows a common approach in the high-end market where smaller models with nearly identical features as the larger ones are released. The Xiaomi 14 keeps the core features of its predecessor, boasting a compact design and weighing just 193 grams, making it notable in the high-end market for its ease of use. Small phones often get a bad rap for their limited battery life, but keep reading this review because you’re in for a surprise.

This year, Xiaomi has refined the screen borders, providing a more utilized front display, although there are still competitors that may slightly outdo it in this regard.

Despite the lack of an infrared sensor, which was a notable feature in previous models, the device remains appealing and practical, retaining essential features such as IP68 protection against water and dust.

Xiaomi 14 Price

The Xiaomi 14 has a 6.36-inch screen that uses AMOLED technology. This means it offers really good picture quality, even though it’s a small device. The screen resolution is 1.5K, which makes images look sharp and clear.

It also has a refresh rate of 120 Hz and uses LTPO technology. This makes everything on the screen look smoother, and it helps save battery too. While its maximum brightness of 3,000 nits isn’t the highest, most people will still find the screen quality and colors to be really good.

The Xiaomi 14 runs on a new operating system called HyperOS, which is based on Android 14 and is designed to be an updated version of MIUI. It comes pre-installed on the Xiaomi 14, as well as the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. Other Xiaomi phones are gradually receiving updates to switch to HyperOS.

In this review, the Xiaomi 14 proves its worth in terms of performance. It runs smoothly thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, supported by 12 GB of RAM and storage options of either 256 or 512 GB. Whether you’re gaming, handling social media, or shooting high-quality videos, this phone handles it all effortlessly.

Despite its compact size, the Xiaomi 14 breezes through all our tests, boasting the latest technology packed inside. Don’t underestimate it based on its size; it’s fully equipped to meet your tech needs.

In the design part, I mentioned that having a small size often gives a negative impression because it usually means the battery life isn’t great. But in this case, that’s not true. Xiaomi made sure this smartphone has a big 4,610 mAh battery and super-fast 90W charging.

Despite its compact size, this phone actually has really good battery life. You won’t have any trouble making it through the day without needing to charge. A bigger 5,000 mAh battery would have been even better, but there just wasn’t enough space. Plus, it’s also good at wireless charging, offering 50W for a quick and easy charging experience.

The camera setup, now made in partnership with Leica, includes three rear cameras on the Xiaomi 14. The main sensor boasts 50 megapixels, delivering balanced and true-to-life image quality with consistent color representation across all sensors.

While the quality of the wide-angle and telephoto lenses may slightly decrease under certain conditions, overall performance has significantly improved compared to previous models.

Features like selfie mode, portrait mode, and video recording contribute to making the Xiaomi 14 one of the top contenders for best front camera on mobile phones. However, it’s worth noting that the main rear camera, which you’ll likely use the most, also yields very good results.

Pros and Cons

Many will love its small size.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 ensures great performance.
Fast 90W charging is a plus.
The screen isn’t the brightest.
There’s no infrared sensor.
We wish it had a 5,000 mAh battery.

Priced at 999 euros, USD 1,147 the Xiaomi 14 comes with some bonus gifts, like the Xiaomi Pad 6, making it even more appealing. While the software could be better, the phone’s hardware and camera features make it a reliable option worth considering.
